Review - Mookata Traditional Thai BBQ Katong

2:02 PM

On Father's day weekend, I brought my family to Mookata Traditional Thai BBQ at Katong for dinner.
Mookata at East Coast Road/Katong is one of my favourite Mookata places in Singapore.

There were 5 of us, so we ordered the set for 4 (S$68.90) which consists of marinated chicken thigh, pork collar, prawns, squid, suriyaki, streaky bacon, pork belly, fishball, meatball, crabsticks, otah fishcake, cabbages, kangkong, xiao bai cai, corn, golden mushroom, eggs, tunghoon and tofu. In addition, we ordered additional ala-carte meat and vegetables.

There are 2 soup bases - pork broth or tom yum soup. We got the pork broth soup base as it was lighter flavoured as compared to the tom yum soup base.

I liked their home-made chili sauces which came in 3 levels of spiciness and went really well with their already heavily marinated meats.
A few of my favourites are the normal & tomyum chicken thigh (S$7.50/S$15), pork collar (S$8.00/S$16.00) and sliced beef (S$12.00/S$24.00). YUMS!

Another plus about Mookata Traditional Thai BBQ is that they use charcoal to cook your food which makes it taste extra good and fragrant.

best mookata in Singapore

After BBQ-ing your food with the pork lard, you should taste the soup again as it will taste super sweet and savoury!!! Highly recommend!!!

P.S. Do try the Thai Ice Tea (S$3.50) as it tastes really authentic as well.

Till then xx
